It’s a family affair: OVO and Lee clan secretly plan Fring’s
Juice Factor: 9/10
By now, everyone’s heard that Drake and Susur Lee (and his boys, who are longtime buds) have partnered to open up Fring’s, a new eatery in that space that used to house Crush Wine Bar. On the total down low, invitations were discreetly sent out to Toronto’s most VIP for a Monday night bash that brought out the herds not only to catch a glimpse Toronto’s most famous rapper, but also to be one of the lucky in attendance at the hottest party in the 6ix since – well, probably last week during TIFF. While Jada Pinkett Smith and Jaden Smith danced to the sounds of DJ/co-owner Drake, Serena Williams strolled in halfway through the party to support her new beau, first b-lining to hug his mom ensuring the rumour mills of “are they or aren’t they” stop. Clearly, they “are.”
Posh Spice not looking so posh
Juice Factor: 8/10
It appears British pop princess Posh Spice wasn’t feeling so posh after hosting a one-year anniversary dinner at her London store, according to the Daily Mail. Stumbling down the stairs of the store after the dinner, she clung onto husband David Beckham who didn’t look too impressed with his wife. Could just be a misstep but we couldn’t help but notice that she held on to him as they walked to the car. Who can blame her though? Everyone drinks a little too much every now and then… and an anniversary is as good an excuse as any!

Spotted: Serena Williams lunching with Meghan Markle at the New Boulud
Juice Factor: 8/10
The new Café Boulud has not been lacking celebrity attendance since its opening two weeks ago. Following a star-studded couple of weeks during TIFF, Serena Williams and Meghan Markle were spotted at lunch yesterday noshing on Daniel Boulud’s new menu and likely gossiping about their mutually handsome beaus. Sadly, Drake and Chef Cory Vitiello were nowhere in sight.
Toronto’s Dancing Queen catches the eye of Drake
Juice Factor: Simply Awesome
At Monday’s Fring’s VIP party, well-known artist and Toronto’s dancing queen Andrea Bolley was (naturally) dancing next to the DJ booth when she caught the winning eye of Mr. The6ix himself. Drake reached over the booth, grabbed her hands and danced with the golden girl. He was so impressed by her laissez-faire moves that he invited her into his booth to join him. He told his three—yes, three—bodyguards to let her in, and proceeded to host her in his little booth of groove for however long it takes to play two albums worth of Drake songs. She wrapped her night by being pictured with Drake by celeb photographer George Pimentel who made his way to the booth when he heard she was getting her groove on.
BLIND ITEM: Young Toronto socialite parties with Dan Bilzerian’s best friends
Juice Factor: 9/10
We’ve got to give it to Toronto’s most recently single socialite. Though it’s rumoured she’s “conciously uncoupled” from her ex of a few years, she sure shows us how moving on is done—thanks to her day job on doing just that, we suppose? The young socialite was spotting during TIFF at Soho House, hosting the founding partners of Dollar Beard Club, a new company launched by notorious bachelor (and douchebag) Dan Bilzerian. Though she kept her breakup hush hush for a couple months, it was obvious from her hosting and working the room that she was in fact on the market, though not for long. This past weekend, she was spotted leaving the launch party of Dollar Beard Club at The Addison Residence after just an hour in with a founding partner, while a crowd of eager partygoers were trying to get in. Sure, the company uses the to-be-expected “sex sells” motto, as seen in their cheeky ads like this one. But somehow, her reputation seems to precede her and she’s showing us how a rebound should be done. If you have it, flaunt it!

The Food & Wine Festival Gets it Almost Right
Juice Factor: 8/10
In the US, this festival is considered the greatest food and wine event of the year. Happening in Aspen, South Beach, Arizona and more hot US cities, it was a real coup for the organizers to get it over to the 6ix to replace what used to be the Delicious Food Show—but it didn’t go quite as planned. To the dismay of the vendors, chefs and participating restaurants (which featured the best our wonderful city has to offer), the organizers didn’t ensure a properly functioning sample ticketing system. While using computerized stations to load money onto wristbands is clever, if they don’t work, everyone loses (or wins). On the first day of the festival, the wristbands weren’t subtracting funds—making attendees very happy—but on the last day, they were deleting funds completely when checking balances, leaving guests irked with frustration. Such is technology—but we do hope the vendors get repaid the lost funds.
Blind Item: it’s a dog-eat-dog PR world
Juice Factor: 8/10
It’s no secret that the PR industry has been getting more and more competitive with so many twenty-something, straight-outta-school juniors starting their own firms to compete with the moguls that have been at it for decades. But apparently it’s not getting easier as we caught wind that even the biggest on the scene have started undercutting each other—and the newbies—just to get the client. One PR star in particular will stop at no end, charging fees that even the smallest brands can afford, pretty much declaring that the PR world is hers. Watch out kids…
