Nurse Morgan loves Toronto eats

Sure, Jared Leto is in town, but fans of The Mindy Project are going mental for actor Ike Barinholtz, AKA Nurse Morgan, who’s also in town filming one of the biggest star-studded Hollywood productions of the summer. We spotted him at Portland Variety on King West at lunch, where a waitress couldn’t keep her cool in the presence of “a famous person!” He was also apparently at Sushi Kaji on Friday night.
If you’re wondering if he’s as awesome in person as he seems on the show, just check out his Twitter feed. This is one of our favourites from back in April when he arrived on scene to shoot Suicide Squad: “I was working out in my hotel’s gym in Canada and curling was on the TV and a man changed the channel to a DIFFERENT curling match.”

Kate Moss video unearthed after plane incident

“I have an announcement… you’re basic,” said Kate Moss, joined by designer Marc Jacobs in a video filmed just days before she was escorted off a flight from Turkey after allegedly drinking vodka straight from the bottle on the flight, and calling the pilot a “a basic bitch.” Ouch. Well, colour us basic, then. Passengers didn’t complain and instead got a kick out of her intoxication. But media has gone wild. How will Kate recover from this one? Well, given that Marc Jacobs just signed Cher and Willow Smith to star in his fall campaign, maybe he can make room for her for another “comeback.”

Last Thursday, almost every media personality and local celebrity hit The Power Plant for the famous annual art fundraiser, The Power Ball – this year featuring culinary think-pieces by New York City artist Jennifer Rubell. Highlights included an octopus chandelier and pools filled with plastic balls, but more attention was being paid to the two bare bosoms on display. That’s right, there’s getting tipsy enough to take selfies in pools of plastic plastic balls, and then there’s getting so annihilated your boobs pop out of your dress. We’d call them PowerBoobs, if we weren’t so classy.
Spotted: Hockey superstars dine at Montecito

Hockey star Sidney Crosby dined at Ivan Reitman and Jonathan Waxman’s Montecito Restaurant in Toronto on Tuesday, June 9, where Crosby met up with this year’s NHL #1 draft prospect, Connor McDavid. After dinner the two athletes made their way to the Oasis Rooftop Patio at Gretzky’s Restaurant, where they met up with the great one himself! That’s the past, present and future of hockey all in one spot.

Margot Robbie, the new “it” girl, spotted in red, white & blue

If you still don’t know Australian actress Margot Robbie, who appeared alongside Leo in The Wolf of Wall Street, we predict the blonde beauty will go household after Suicide Squad hits theatres in 2016. Her name is on everyone’s lips here in Toronto, especially after she was spotted sporting red, white and blue on Monday, showing off her very fit physique to boot. Blind Item: Retail woes for a so-called up-and-comer

It’s certainly easy to create media buzz in Toronto whether you’re launching a new resto, store, fashion line, or just your triumphant return to the party circuit. That doesn’t mean all the hype translates into good business. This one particular “up-and-comer” has made a name in the fashion scene, but business is so poor that the fashionista actually has to rely on hand-outs from a bar that pays the well-dressed and easy-on-the-eyes scenester to hang regularly at their establishment–drinks included–knowing full well that a stylish entourage and hangers-on will then follow.
Beyoncé responds to backlash (well, sorta kinda)

The Bey hive is abuzz after the Queen got them out of bed Monday morning for a super-hyped “big” announcement, scheduled to air on Good Morning America. The three minutes and 30 seconds of Beyoncé face time was exclusively dedicated to the Renaissance woman telling everyone she lost weight following her vegan diet, and you can too, by helping Bey add zeros to her bank account by subscribing to her 22 Days Nutrition Vegan Challenge.
The Dream Girl posted photos of herself rocking a Stella McCartney cut-out swimsuit on her website, but after the backlash, she tried to curve being called out-of-touch (a la Gwyneth) by taking to Instagram to share a rare “candid” shot of her with her arms around Blue Ivy, clearly taken on a vacation in Italy weeks prior.
Oh, Bey. We don’t expect you to be in touch with reality; we just don’t want you to hype “news” and then hawk a load of crap with a price tag attached.

Miley tries to make vagina the new ass

Following Kim Kardashian’s lead, Miley Cyrus posed nude for Paper Magazine, with full vag on display. Even Vogue declared 2014 the year of the rump, but we doubt Miley can flip it on its backside.
