Sex & The 6ix is our new weekly Sunday dating column in collaboration with a dating expert and matchmaker. Every week, watch two people get to know each other and predict if the relationship will bloom or if it looks like an epic fail. We send two people out to a hot spot to enjoy dinner on us and see if we can make a love connection!

Now onto this week’s date…. Meet Shanny’s match:

This week our daters, Lida and Kevin, had the luxury of enjoying dinner on us at the chic French restaurant on Wellington Street, East Thirty-Six. I thought it would be interesting to match Lida, a web developer yogi, with Kevin who specializes in video events production. Both are very creative, close in age, and avid social media junkies, so I’m sure these two will connect on an intellectual level. Lida is attracted to a tech nerd type, who is athletic, tall and dark-haired. Could this be Kevin? Although Kevin admits he’s not a huge gym guy, if these two match up, Lida could teach him a thing or two about yoga since she is an instructor and has her own YouTube Channel.

Another plus, Kevin is attracted to a “gym bunny” type, so he won’t be disappointed when he locks eyes on Lida, who has a sexy European look. He describes himself as a tech nerd, with a great sense of humor and loves the outdoors. These qualities are just a few that Lida looks for in a mate. She is ready to meet a great guy and Kevin hopes to land a long-term relationship. Both are at that perfect age to take their single status to the next level. Will these two blind daters test the waters of love and hit it off during a romantic dinner?

After interviewing both Lida and Kevin, Shannon’s expert opinion is…

After receiving the post date feedback, I’m happy to report that this weeks Sex & the 6ix blind date is a match! Kevin and Lida had such a great time on their date that they are already planning date number two! Besides enjoying a delicious meal, their conversation flowed well and time flew by during the 3-hour date. Lida felt comfortable and natural during the date, and Kevin was more then impressed with Lida, which is a positive sign for a future relationship. They both identified with one another, being new to the blind date experience, and were very happy with the outcome.

I’m excited for these two to get to know one another and have already had the pleasure of exchanging their contact info. Thank you to the wonderful wait staff at East Thirty-Six who helped create the perfect date environment. We will check back in with Lida and Kevin and keep you posted on their dating status.
