There’s an increasing movement in the city and beyond, and it won’t sacrifice flavour. Non-alcoholic beverages are taking Toronto’s grocery shelves by storm, and the trend is really taking off. If you’re participating in #SoberOctober, for health reasons or for any other reason you choose, we’re right there with you. We’ve rounded up our favourite spirit-free beverages that are full of flavour and sure to satisfy.
Our favourite #SoberOctober drinks
AB0VE
Made in Toronto, this brand is a newcomer to the zero-proof game and dreamed up a premium cocktail option that’s perfect – and easily accessible – for #SoberOctober. The brand created three flavours of authentic craft cocktails but, of course, without the liquor. They’re available at most of the Loblaws group of grocery stores, and won’t break the bank.
aēlo
For #SoberOctober options, aēlo is about as healthy as you can get. Each canned mocktail is made with all-natural flavours and zero sugar and is gluten-free. Options include a classic gin & tonic, a peach bellini, a lime margarita and an aperitivo spritz. Plus, the pretty packaging makes each can Instagram-worthy.

Ceder’s
New to Canada, this brand makes alcohol-free spirits good for #SoberOctober and beyond. You can mix and match flavours and recipes for creations that suit every season, and each award-winning distilled spirit can serve as a base for those with different palate preferences.
iOTA
iOTA is a zero-proof craft beer with unique flavours and authentic brew-mastery. It hails from Victoria, British Columbia, and is brewed by internationally award-winning Phillips Brewing & Malt Co. The non-alcoholic beer is brewed in four flavour profiles – Pale Ale, Pilsner, Blackberry Lemon Ale and Hazy IPA. The Hazy IPA, in particular, is a noteworthy #SoberOctober option because of the difficulty involved in brewing a non-alcoholic IPA.
Harmon’s
New to the alcohol-free craft beer market, this Ontario-based brand was founded by three friends who are passionate about what they do and even participate in different variations of #SoberOctober. Harmon’s comes in a range of flavours, and each tastes remarkably close to the proof version of beer.
