Social Media Week was celebrated in Toronto the week before last and was very well received. In the last 3 years it has grown significantly and this year hosted over 100,000 attendees throughout all the cities that celebrate this marketing phenomenon. Tiffany Mealia of www.ShesSoSavvy.ca organized and hosted the panel discussion “Social Media & Food” and I had the pleasure of being asked to be one of the panelists to discuss the power of Social Media on the food and restaurant industry. I sat alongside Tiffany, Melissa Ramos of www.SexyFoodTherapy.com and Gail Gabrielle of Real Sports and the panel was moderated by Food and Travel blogger, Andrew Dobson of www.DobbernationLoves.com.
We were asked various questions about the power of the different social medias in the food business and how collaborations are ultimately the best way to communicate messages to a restaurant’s audience and develop relationships that can in turn into sales. The discussion was great and View the Vibe tried to catch a few extracts on film. Check out the vlog – it is a little longer but we tried to focus on some interesting points so it’s definitely worth the watch!
Thanks to all the attendees and a special thanks to Tiffany for including me on this panel – can’t wait for next year!
