It may be common to spot your favourite celeb on the streets of Toronto, or even the Eaton Centre if you’re a Michael Bublé fan, but what about on the TTC? Well, if you’re a hockey fan, specifically a Leafs fan (of course), then you may have recently spotted the much beloved William Nylander on the subway. Earlier this month a photo of Nylander on the TTC went viral which caught the eye of Rogers. Since launching 5G on the TTC, Rogers has been keeping riders connected and has officially partnered with Nylander in a recent video ad.

In early November a photo of Toronto Maple Leafs star William Nylander went viral. In an interview with the National Post, Nylander said, “This season, I’ve taken the subway every game except for one, it depends on traffic.”
“People come up and ask for pictures or say hi, but they don’t really bother me,” Nylander said. “Everybody’s very nice.”

Since launching 5G on the TTC, riders are finally able to stay connected underground. If you’ve lived in Toronto since before the launch, you know what a struggle it was to be aimlessly scrolling through posts that wouldn’t load and waiting to log on to WIFI at every station.

After catching wind of Nylander riding the TTC, Rogers took full advantage of this opportunity and just launched the perfect video ad today. In the video you can see Nylander riding the TTC in his suit before the game, nodding at Leafs fans and even having his photo taken by an older woman across from him. The star of the show appears when Nylander’s mom and sisters in Sweden make an appearance telling the star to fix his tie.
The video was just posted on Rogers’ social channel and William plans to share it on Instagram in the next few days. The ad spot will also be airing this Saturday on Hockey Night in Canada during the Toronto Maple Leafs game.
