Spring has finally graced us with its presence and dare I say a proper summer is just around the corner. In celebration, Bloom Restaurant, the lovely Bloor West Cuban French eatery, invited some Toronto foodies to sample their new spring menu. I was both shocked and flattered to be included in this gourmet group and truth be told, I live around the corner and have never tried this restaurant. The menu, designed by Cuban born chef, Pedro Quintanilla was simple, fresh and combined the flavours of Cuba and France very well.
The décor of Bloom is colorfully bright while also remaining cozy and friendly. Upon arrival I was offered a Mojito – always a good start to the night for Ms. Nicki – and the vibe was really laid back and comfortable. One of my favourite parts of the evening was the sommelier – a lovely Aussie who was both charming and entertaining. Nick Keukenmeester of Lifford Wines introduced us to the Malivoire Winery and paired each course perfectly.
In this vlog, I share my meal with one of my favourite foodie dates, Stella Yu of www.FoodJunkieChronicles.com. We enjoyed some great Cuban French food and drank some fabulous wine – check it out!
