Summer in our fair city is no bummer. Quite the contrary: it’s downright delicious (if we do say so ourselves). That’s thanks in large part to Toronto’s terrific events. Here are 6 summer festivals in Toronto you’d be a fool to miss…
Fringe Festival
Celebrating its 25th birthday, this is bound to be the Fringe Fest’s best year yet. Look forward to old favourites and experimental works of all shapes and sizes, in venues scattered throughout the city, parties and a beer tent, free performances by buskers, bands and visual artists, and more. As per usual, its central point is the Bloor and Bathurst area, in and around Honest Ed’s. That’s where both the Fringe Club and Artist Alley will be set up and a large chunk of the action will be taking place.
July 3rd to 14th, 2013
Wakestock
The world’s largest wakeboarding festival and the largest summer action sports festival in Canada will soon be back in action. This weekend-long event – complete with live music (bands include Silversun Pickups and the Sheepdogs), a beer garden and bikini contest – is sure to make a real splash this summer. Taking place in Collingwood (cottage country), buy your tickets by mid-June at the latest, before prices take a significant jump… just like contestants.
