This Toronto-based startup is changing the dining game

Toronto has an impressive dining scene, with global cuisines represented in top-notch, high-quality eateries across the city. Restaurants like Amal, Refinery Rooftop and more are often busy and reservations are hard to come by. So, a new Toronto-based app called Tablz is looking to change that.

Tablz is a Toronto-born app that seeks to help the restaurant industry recover from inflation prices on food and materials, tight profit margins, and other post-pandemic blues. It seeks to match a high-quality restaurant experience with those looking to optimize their experience in some of the city’s best restaurants, making enjoying Lebanese cuisine at Amal and tapas at Madrina an even more enjoyable experience. In short, it does what many other entertainment venues already do, and brings it to the food scene: Tablz sells premium restaurant seating at premium times.

Inside Tablz, users can take 3D tours of restaurants they’re potentially looking to visit from their cell phones. On the tour, users have a view of every single table inside the restaurant, and can select one they’d like to eat at. Then, the user pays a fee, which ranges from $5 to $100 depending on the restaurant, to eat at the table of their choice at a premium time.

The Toronto-bred app has already swept across the continent, with eateries across the Canada and the United States, from Ottawa to New York to Miami to Chicago, available on Tablz. Toronto options include Charles Khabouth’s Amal, Refinery Rooftop, Afici, Madrina Bar y Tapas and Barbounia. More options are added on the platform every single day.

For restaurants, profit share and subscription options are both available, and diners only pay the fees to select their desired table at peak hours. Essentially, both restaurants and diners can benefit from a further-customized restaurant experience that brings guests what they want and restaurants an increased profit margin.
