We caught up with Love 4 A Cure co-founders Tamanna Ghazvini and Tamara Fletcher, the two best friends and daredevils extraordinaire behind the non-profit organization, to find out more…
Give us a snippet about you. What should people know?
We met at the University of Western Ontario and became instant friends. We quickly realized how much we had in common: we both had twin sisters, two brothers, and a passion for adventure. (Not to mention our similar names.) Our charitable efforts began in 2012 when we skydived 18,000 feet to raise awareness and take a stand against sex trafficking. Shortly after, Love 4 a Cure was born.

What inspired you to start Love 4 a Cure?
Like many others, we have both witnessed loved ones battle various forms of cancer. Those experiences triggered a passion within us to help make a difference. Our goal when founding Love 4 a Cure was to work with leading Canadian charity organizations to help fund research that focuses on finding a cure to cancer.
When did you start Love 4 a Cure?
Love 4 a Cure was launched in November 2012 with our first event on February 14th, 2013.
How much have you raised in the past and what is your goal this year?
Love 4 a Cure raised $20,000 in our first event last year with all proceeds going to Rethink Breast Cancer. We are aiming to double our proceeds at this year’s event for The Princess Margaret Cancer Foundation.

What are three things you simply cannot live without?
Love, good health, and of course each other.
What is your favourite restaurant and why?
There’s far too many in Toronto to choose just one! We love experiencing the tastes of different cuisine’s while socializing with great friends.
What is your favourite drink/cocktail and where do you go to get it?
We love visiting vineyards in Niagara-on-the-Lake and sipping on local wines while enjoying the scenic views.
