Nothing feels better than being in the nude sometimes. But before you strip out of your skivvies, I’d just like to note that I’m strictly referring to makeup. Colour will always be cool, but sometimes it’s best to keep it simple and let your features speak for themselves.
If you think the nude look isn’t for you, think again. Just like all other makeup items, you have to do what’s right for your skintone and needs. During a consultation at MAC, I tried on several lipsticks before I found my go-to shade. So fear not if your first foray into the wide world of nude isn’t so straightforward, and don’t be afraid to ask for assistance if you need it. So without further adieu, here are the best beauty products to help you start your descent into the nude…
Face: NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer, $49.00
Not everyone is comfortable with going completely coverage-free, and that’s understandable. Luckily, that’s where tinted moisturizer comes in. It’s lightweight, yet still provides a nice level of coverage without feeling cakey. I’m a fan of NARS Pure Radiant Tinted Moisturizer as it applies easily and helps protect my skin from the sun with built-in SPF 30. I wear Polynesia but there are 11 shades to choose from for a variety of skintones.

Lips: MAC Viva Glam II, $19.00
Whenever I’m going for a look with a bolder eyeshadow, I tend to keep the lips neutral. After scouring many a makeup counter, I finally found my favourite nude shade – and I haven’t looked back since. Anytime I’m in the mood for a low-key lip I turn to MAC Viva Glam II which is neutral with a slight pink undertone.

If you’ve spent any time in the makeup artist blogosphere, you’ve surely heard about this product line. Urban Decay’s Naked Palette (now on its third iteration) has gained a loyal following thanks to its wealth of versatile nude-based shades that can be easily tailored to suit any occasion, day or night.
