The Costume Institute announces its 2026 exhibition theme
The Met has revealed that The Costume Institute’s spring 2026 exhibition, Costume Art, will explore how clothing and the body shape one another by pairing fashion pieces with artworks from across the Museum’s vast collection, all inside the newly built Condé M. Nast Galleries opening beside the Great Hall. Supported by a lead gift from Jeff Bezos and Lauren Sánchez Bezos, with additional contributions from Saint Laurent, Condé Nast, Thom Browne, Michael Kors and Lance Le Pere, and others. The exhibition will run from May 10, 2026, to January 10, 2027 and will focus on a range of body types seen throughout Western art, from the “Naked Body” and “Classical Body” to the “Pregnant Body” and “Aging Body.” The 2026 Met Gala on May 4 will celebrate the opening, with funds continuing to support The Costume Institute’s work.
Little Simz was awarded for her impact on fashion and culture this year
Little Simz was honoured as the Cultural Innovator at The Fashion Awards 2025, a recognition of the major influence she had on fashion and culture this year. With BRIT, MOBO, Mercury Prize, and Ivor Novello wins under her belt, she continued her rise from school-yard mixtapes to a Top 3 album with Lotus, solidifying her status as one of the UK’s most powerful creative voices. In 2025, she became the youngest curator of the Southbank Centre’s Meltdown Festival, starred in the film STEVE alongside Cillian Murphy, expanded her acting career after Top Boy, and graced major covers from British Vogue to Dazed. As BFC’s Laura Weir put it, Little Simz wasn’t just part of the cultural conversation—she was actively reshaping it.

As the BFC shared on Instagram, Anok reshaped beauty standards, championed artistry and representation, and inspired a new generation while continuing to shape the cultural conversation.
New collections to watch out for
Jonathan Anderson to debut his first Dior cruise collection in 2026
Jonathan Anderson is gearing up for a major milestone next spring: his first-ever Dior cruise collection, set to debut on May 13, 2026, somewhere in Los Angeles—though the exact spot is still under wraps. The announcement comes almost a year after he stepped into his history-making role as the first designer since Christian Dior himself to oversee the brand’s men’s, women’s and couture lines all at once
Demna prepares for his first Gucci cruise collection
Gucci has announced that it will unveil its Cruise 2027 collection in New York on May 16, 2026, marking Demna’s first cruise outing for the House after his big debut show in February. The choice of New York is a full-circle moment for Gucci, since the city is where the brand opened its first international store back in 1953, setting the stage for its global presence today. By returning to a place that has long reflected its mix of creativity, cultural exchange and modern energy, the House is tapping into the city that has always inspired bold ideas.
Hot new launches and campaigns that are generating buzz
Nike x Jacquemus hit the slopes
Nike and Jacquemus have teamed up again, this time bringing their minimal, fashion-forward aesthetic to the ski world with an 18-piece Après Ski collection built around mountain life. The lineup mixes technical performance with runway energy, think triple-layer GORE-TEX jackets and pants made for snowstorms and slope-side drinks, a sleek women’s jumpsuit, stirrup leggings, a bralette, a reimagined men’s shirt, and a sport-inspired long-sleeve top. Simon Porte Jacquemus says his love of skiing and his obsession with vintage ’80s ski gear helped shape the playful yet functional vibe of the collection. It’s a continuation of the duo’s long-standing partnership and adds a new chapter by bringing Jacquemus into the ski community for the first time, with everything rolling out on November 26 at Jacquemus before landing on Nike on December 3.
Reformation reunites with Clare Waight Keller for new jewelry drop
Fresh off launching its jewelry category, Reformation is back with its second collaboration with designer Clare Waight Keller—and it leans into everything people love about both names. The Ref x Clare Waight Keller pieces are crafted entirely from recycled metals like 24k gold and sterling silver, with just enough sparkle to feel festive for the holidays. The collection mixes clean, everyday designs with bolder, Art Deco–inspired statement pieces, making it ideal for both gifting and treating yourself. And when you eventually retire them years from now, they can be recycled through RefRecycling.
Valentino reveals its star-filled Cruise 2026 campaign
Valentino unveiled its Cruise 2026 campaign with an all-star lineup including Dakota Johnson, Dev Hynes, Anne Imhof and pop star Tate McRae. Framed around Chopin’s Nocturne in E-flat, the campaign leans into that dreamy, in-between moment of “almost asleep,” using a hotel setting to capture the mix of intimacy and anonymity Alessandro Michele loves to explore. The visuals tap into themes of ritual, shared experiences and surreal dream states, all while highlighting new Valentino pieces.
Bottega Veneta debuts new short film and photo series
Bottega Veneta has released a new short film and photo series titled What Are Dreams?, which brings brand ambassador and current cultural favourite, Jacob Elordi, back together with photographer Duane Michals. Shot inside Michals’ own New York home, the project leans into an intimate, surreal mood, presenting black-and-white portraits meant to tap into the unconscious and the uncanny. Spread across 12 images, Elordi appears in dreamlike scenes filled with symbolic props and motifs inspired by Surrealist greats like Giorgio de Chirico and René Magritte. The film pushes the idea even further, with Elordi reciting Michals’ poem What Are Dreams?, originally published in his 2001 book Questions Without Answers.

This month’s most talked-about fashion and pop culture moments
Jonathan Bailey’s beanie becomes the surprise moment of the Wicked premiere
At the Wicked premiere on November 17, Lincoln Center’s Upper West Side was turned into a full Emerald City moment, green carpet and all, but it was Jonathan Bailey who sparked the evening’s most unexpected conversation. The actor, long known for his willingness to challenge red-carpet conventions (his sandal era lives rent-free on the internet), paired a sleek all-black Loro Piana suit—styled by Emma Jade Morrison—with a simple knit beanie. Naturally, social media had immediate thoughts about whether the accessory belonged at a premiere, yet Bailey’s status as People’s Sexiest Man Alive may just grant him the freedom to bend the rules. And if the goal was to get people talking, the beanie more than delivered.
