For years and years, product designers have tried to marry design and functionality with an everyday product. You’ve seen bottle opening wristbands, belts, key rings and even sandals, but what about a bottle opening iPhone?
Intoxicase is just that: an iPhone casing that doubles as a bottle opener and intoxication control via a smart(phone) application.

The iPhone Casing
The protective casing is made out of a Polycarb Stainless Steel 304 and comes in two versions. You can either purchase the Intoxicase phone casing, which is a pub-styled opener, or the Intoxicase Plus which features a slimmer opener. The casing’s design is minimalistic and fits in well with the iPhone’s sleek design. The bottle opening feature is mounted on the back of the iPhone’s casing placed at the top, which is sturdier than the bottom.
The iPhone App
The Intoxicase is so much more than just your standard bottle opening tool. Working in combination with the pop top feature, the iPhone app will track the drinks consumed by logging the amount of drinks that you’ve opened with the Intoxicase opener. Depending on the amount of alcohol consumed or your level of intoxication, your Intoxicase is able to contact a taxi or cab service to help you get home (or to your next stop) safely.
Other fun features include the Intoxicase playing a song every time you pop a cap or posting your beer-log or total drinks on your chosen social networks such as Facebook and Twitter. Intoxicase will record your drinking habits and you will be able to view your habits and alcohol dependency in the form of a graph. If you are looking to decrease your alcohol intake, you will also be able to track your progress with this app. Form and functionality… Can’t go wrong with that.
