So last week, Ms. Nicks and I went over to The Stop’s Night Market in the Honest Ed’s back alley…just barely. We nabbed tix early on because it sounded awesome – and was, as you’ll see in the vlog – and decided we’d go pretty much right when it opens. But even though we arrived 20 minutes before they started letting people in, there was already a huge line. We decided drinks were in order pre-lineup, so Nicki and I ended up at The Central around the corner…and then so did the line.
After hesitation on whether to go got the better of us, we left destined to try to find a restaurant, but lo and behold the line had shrunk to nil an hour in so we were good to go get our freak…er…eat on. We walked through the alley on that sweltering day, and though we tried to remain in high spirits, the heat couldn’t help but get to us. When we saw the 18 or so restaurant stations, though, a li’l leap for joy came about and we were on our noshing adventure.
We ate, we drank, then ate some more while drinking, and then were proper packed by the time we left. From bunny chow to banana leaf sturgeon, raw/vegan/organic black bean tacos to Son in Law Eggs, meatballs covered in salsa verde to some delish donut bites, Nicki and I rolled outta the event – literally and figuratively – happy we at least gave the event a second take. Check out all the restos and awesome food in the vlog below.
