Is there any better way to kick-off TIFF than being treated like a celebrity for a couple of hours? Lucky for us, media does get a little taste of this during the TIFF season in Toronto. When we found out we were invited to attend The Tastemakers Lounge located in the InterContinental Toronto Centre, we knew we were in for some serious swagging.
For the eighth year in a row at TIFF, Tastemakers Lounge showcases the best upcoming products and brands for consumers and celebrities. This year coordinated by Rock-it Promotions and the riveting Leesa Butler, three suites were taken over and filled with the finest of goods 🙂
Our tour of the lounge started with a introduction to Canada’s premier fashion destination. With more than 225 shops and services, Yorkdale Shopping Centre reminded us why it’s still worth the drive. We were treated with a Microsoft Arc mouse and a glam bangle from the stylish designer, Ann Taylor. Also big news for the shopping destination, Coco Rochel has now been confirmed as the new face for the fall/winter campaign – a good choice YD, way to choose a Canuck gem!

Although the remainder of the tour highlighted an overload of feminine products, it didn’t stop Adam from spraying a concoction of “Tobacco Pipe” and “Hemp Leaf” scent on himself at the Demeter Fragrance Lab. With a library of 250 scents from dirt to pink lemonade, Demeter hunts down the beauty in every scent to make it a wearable expression. Layering the scents are key, I thought the gin n’ tonic (my favourite drink) was a dream come true, if i can’t have a drink, I might as well smell like one.
Onto La Senza‘s new bra collection, “Beyond Sexy.” Adam wasn’t able to pick out a matching animal print panty and push-up, but I’m sure he survived. Only barely though as we were swept to the KISS brand of imPRESS Press-on Manicure and Nail Dress products. I had luckily cleared my nails of any nailpolish debris as I was thrilled to experience a bejeweled manicure with Nail Dress. Adam, again, sorry – you could have had a fancy pinky in hot pink.
But Adam finally did get to indulge in John Allan’s, a NY based mens grooming service that caters to shoe shines, hair clean-ups, manicures and hand massages. Located at the Bay downtown, this mens only club serves a cold beer with your service to truly make it a VIP experience.
Dessert was served up by the delectable Le Dolci, Toronto’s foodie fun studio! One of VTV’s favs, Le Dolci teaches people how to make and decorate delicious treats like Parisian macaroons, cupcakes, cake pops and mini fondant wedding cakes. And who can forget those cute TIFF inspired cupcakes?
