The VIBE inside GRAZE, a steakhouse at City Walk Dubai

GRAZE is a casual steakhouse restaurant where they boast the perfect balance between fine and freshly cut meats in a relaxed and equally refined atmosphere. You can choose between sitting outdoor on the terrace that overlooks City Walk Dubai or staying indoors for a cooler, more intimate steakhouse dinner. With plenty of vegetarian dishes also available, you and all your friends can indulge in a delicious experience at GRAZE Steakhouse inside La Ville Hotel.

The Place

The GRAZE Gastro Grill backs out right onto City Walk Dubai and is one of La Ville Hotel & Suites’ restaurants. Anyone can stop by off the street which makes GRAZE all the more welcoming. City Walk is one of the most popular outdoor retail complexes in Dubai. The metropolitan hub is a great destination to shop ‘till you drop, and GRAZE’s location gives you the perfect midday pick-me-up before you get back to those stores! City Walk is right down the road from major Dubai attractions such as the Burj Khalifa, so you know you’re in the heart of Dubai at the Graze Gastro Grill & Bar.

GRAZE’s outdoor terrace overlooks the busy streets of Dubai’s City Walk by Meraas. Its understated yet tastefully checkered tables are reminiscent of those simple, wooden, and classy designs. You’ll be sitting comfortably while you enjoy the wholesome goodness of Australia’s finest premium-cut meats. Their indoor dining area also has a clean-cut and modernized twist to most classic steakhouse restaurant designs.

The Food

GRAZE prides itself on two things: 1) the quality of Australian meats they offer and 2) their prized wood-fired Josper oven which retains the true flavours of the meats. The Chef is a stickler when it comes to preparing steaks which is what caught my attention. Curious to see if they would live up to the hype, my plan was to go for something simple and comparable. I started with the Octopus with crunchy potatoes, smoked paprika and labneh. The Octopus was cooked very well on the grill and the medley flavours worked so well with it. Highly recommend that dish!

I then dived right into my main. I wish I could’ve remember the wine I had as it paired so well with the meal, but you an always ask the sommelier who does great job making recommendations. The steak was cooked perfectly and the sides were everything I could’ve asked for. Although I did appreciate that they had brussels sprouts with beef bacon, it lacked a little bit of saltiness. The Baked Truffle Mac & Cheese was a highlight for sure. Then not one, but two desserts were brought out – a de-constructed S’mores and a nacho chip chocolate concoction that I don’t think was even on the menu. They just really wanted me to try it. Let’s just say I didn’t move from that spot for a long ass time. Such an incredible dinner.

The VIBE

I was there on a more chill night immediately following the weekend so it wasn’t too busy. Loved the casual, yet elevated “boutique” type of atmosphere here. The service was above expected and all managers and wait staff worked well together and as a team. You could see the support and it didn’t go unnoticed. I would love to check them out on a busy night to get a better sense of the VIBE, but with the doors opening on to City Walk and the lively, fun atmosphere inside, the overall experience was quite memorable for me. They also do a ‘Grazing Feast’ every Saturday from 1-6pm where you can eat as much as you want for one set price. Just make sure the only plan you have after that is a long afternoon nap.
