The Prime Minister, Justin Trudeau, welcomed the Chancellor of Germany, Olaf Scholz, in Canada this week. Scholz made a stop in Montreal and stopped in Toronto on the 23rd where Trudeau hosted a state dinner at the Royal Ontario Musuem. They were German dignitaries in attendance as well as Deputy Prime Minister of Canada Chrystia Freeland, former Governor General of Canada Adrienne Clarkson, and more
Trudeau and Scholz have worked together to make improvements on several important matters. These matters include supporting Ukraine, discussing the reprecussions of Russia’s illegal invasion, promoting beneficial trade and investments, taking action against climate changes, and more. While in Toronto, the duo visited the Canada-Germany Business Forum and communicated to German and business leaders about how they can work together to find a solution for the global challenges caused by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine.
