The VIBE inside Weslodge Dubai, a chic 68th floor restaurant & lounge

The rugged and stylish Weslodge Saloon is located inside the JW Marriott Marquis Hotel on the 68th floor in downtown Dubai. Their dim ambiance is accompanied by stunning views of the city, and yes you can dine with the famous Burj Khalifa in the background. Near Business Bay, the Weslodge sits right along Dubai Creek and gives you the best city views Dubai has to offer. Their comfortable rustic and chic interior design will have you feeling comfortable the minute you walk in through their big yellow iconic Weslodge doors.

The Place

Dubai’s Business Bay area is located right downtown and caters to Dubai’s businessmen and city travellers aplenty. The Business Bay locale and surrounding area aims not only to place Dubai on the International Business Map but also compete with New York’s renowned Manhattan and Ginza District of Tokyo.

Weslodge’s décor features clean-cut lines with a mixture of rugged and rustic furniture. There are beautiful, soft, plush chairs, and chic elegant chandeliers with a few marble-top dining tables to enjoy.

The Food

Exploring American cuisine, the menu takes a modern and adventurous approach to some classics. I started with the Burrata (of course) with warm pesto, aged balsamic, and grilled bread. It was a perfect way to start the meal and I appreciated the traditional flavours of basil, tomato and pesto saltiness which is how Burrata should be eaten.

For mains, I tried the Maple Glazed Salmon with pickled fennel and grilled lemon along with the Roast Cauliflower on the side. Everything was perfectly executed and delicious. The manager even came by to hang out and chat with me about the background on the restaurant.

I skipped dessert and instead opted for a night cap. So I headed to the over-sized bar to hang out with the bartender for a nice classic Old Fashioned. They pride themselves on making perfectly executed classic cocktails “adventurously reinterpreted”. It was exactly what I wanted to cap off the night.
