The season of love is here and restaurants will be to bring out all the stops. OpenTable has revealed that according to its dining data, most reservations are made one week before Valentine’s Day. If you don’t know where to make a reservation may be OpenTable’s 100 Most Romantic Restaurants List might help. Sixteen restaurants from Toronto made it on the list.
Romantic restaurants in Toronto
The roundup features 46 restaurants in Ontario, 20 in British Columbia, 16 in Alberta, 14 in Quebec and four in Atlantic Canada. The data was compiled by assessing over one million diner reviews across the provinces.
Italian cuisine came out as the top Valentine’s Day favourite, at 25%. This was followed by steakhouses at 16% and contemporary Canadian food at 14%.

“Our survey revealed it’s as important to be your best self with your date as it is with the restaurant team taking care of you,” Matt Davis, Country Director, OpenTable Canada, said in a press release statement.

The survey also gave some insights into spending habits on Valentine’s Day. Two-thirds of Canadians are comfortable with bill splitting and 72% of those celebrating are comfortable with spending more than $41 per person.
