Here are some things to do in Toronto this week:
Bastille Day 2023 by ApéroChic
Celebrate the France National Day event at Cabana Pool Bar on July 11. Hosted by ApéroChic, the dress code for the event is blue, white and/or red. Tickets can be purchased online.
KIND Summer Fair
The two-day cannabis-friendly summer festival is taking place at RendezViews on July 11 & 12. There will be 30+ brands and retailers, a 3-on-3 basketball, a Spikeball tournament, and food and drinks from Gus Tacos and Smithers Sausage. You can get tickets for the event through the site.

Movies Under the Stars
Catch movie screenings outdoors this summer at Downsview Park. On July 11, The Super Mario Bros. Movie will be playing. It will start around 8 pm and you can picnic at the park while watching. You can register online.
Edwards Summer Music Series
Eight free outdoor concerts are part of the music series at the courtyard near the barn in Edwards Gardens. It’s free to attend and the first concert is on July 13 from 7 pm with Mimi O’Bonsawin.
The Park at CIBC SQUARE
There are weekly movie nights and concerts at the park venue. The movie being screened on July 13 is Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, starting at 9:30 pm. Registrations can be done via Eventbrite.
Alicia Keys – Keys to the Summer Tour
The musician is performing at Scotiabank Arena on July 14 as part of her North American tour. Tickets can be purchased online and the show starts at 8 pm.

Honda Indy Toronto Grand Prix
Love it or hate it, the Honda Indy Toronto Grand Prix is back! Friday July 14-Sunday July 16th. 2023 over by the Exhibition grounds. Check out our full guide here.
Taste of the Middle East
The 2023 edition of the summer festival is happening at Nathan Phillips Square from July 14-16. There’ll be food truck vendors, art stalls, music performances and more. The event is free to attend.
BIG on Bloor
On July 15 & 16, Bloor Street West will feature a variety of murals, installations, window displays and other pieces for public viewing. It’s hosted by Bloordale BIA and it’s free to attend.
Mixto Festival
Enjoy music from around the world at Mixto with artists like The Bongo Hop & Nidia Gongora (France & Colombia), Latin Grammy-nominated Afro-Brazilian singer, Luedji Luna, and others. You can also expect F&B options at the event. Sri Lankan food, Brazilian treats, and burgers, to name a few. It’s happening on July 15 & 16 and tickets can be purchased online.
Play on the Runway
Head to the Downsview Runway in North York from 3 pm-6 pm, where you can groove to the beats of a DJ performance on the 2km strip. There will also be additional limited activities like hula hoops and Pickleball demos and instruction. Advance registration is needed for the event, happening on July 16.

National Ice Cream Day with Dairy Farmers of Ontario
Dairy Farmers of Ontario in partnership with Shaw’s Ice Cream is giving away free scoops of ice cream in celebration of National Ice Cream Day on July 16. It’s at the Harbourfront Centre (275 Queens Quay West) from 12 pm to 8 pm.
The Ontario Oyster Festival
This year’s event, dubbed “Back To The Alley”, is once again taking place at Rodney’s Oyster House on July 16. Along with a selection of seafood items, you can also expect a live auction, live music, premium spirits, wine and craft beer. Tickets can be purchased via Tock.
Avalon Lavender Farm
Located just an hour outside of Toronto in Mono, the family-owned farm has over 30,000 lavender bushes. Visitors can also hand-pick their own lavender to take home. Field access tickets can be purchased online.

Watch a drone light show at Hotel X
On this upcoming Saturday, drone entertainment brand, Illumin, joins forces with Hotel X Toronto for a drone light show. The Drone Lightshow Experience will be open to the public, offering free access to spectators from different vantage points across the Exhibition Place grounds. Prepare to be captivated as the sky comes alive with a dazzling symphony of drones and lights in this one-of-a-kind event. The show is 15min and takes place at 10 pm. The best view is from Hotel X Toronto’s rooftop restaurant, Valerie.
