In case you missed the memo, this weekend is Mother’s Day weekend! While this Mother’s Day, like last year, was anything but normal, there are still ways you can celebrate safely. Even if you can’t hug your mama bear this time around, you can still engage in socially-distanced activities because it’s all about time spent together, not necessarily where you go for brunch or what fabulous gift you got her. You did get her a gift right?
If you’re in search of a few fun activities to do this weekend, look no further!

Walk Through High Park

The weather this weekend here in TO might not be as warm as we’d like it to but it’ll still be nice enough for a brisk walk through any of Toronto’s parks but especially High Park. The park is so huge that it honestly feels like you’ve escaped the city and while the cherry blossoms have come and gone, the spring foliage is out in full force. Even socially distanced, it’ll be nice to be out with your family for the afternoon.
Treat Her To Brunch
Restaurants around the city have done an amazing job throughout the pandemic of pivoting to meal kits and take out boxes. Mother’s Day is usually when we splurge on a big brunch for mom but don’t think this year is any different. Treat your mom to brunch in the comfort (and safety) of home from her fave resto!

Enjoy An At-Home Spa Day
Who doesn’t love a trip to the spa? While we sadly can’t gift mom with a spa day, you can however help get her glow on from home. These days there are so many amazing at-home products that’ll have her feeling refreshed, renewed, and gorgeous. Whether mom is craving a facial, pedicure, chemical peel, you name it — it can all be done relatively well at home!
Explore The City
Lockdown got you and mom feeling down? Spend the afternoon exploring different parts of TO using the bike share program. You can pick up and drop the bike at any convenient location and they’re easily adjustable. Bring your own helmet because like mom always says – safety first!
Squeeze In A Workout

If a bicycle ride around the city isn’t enough activity for your mama, why not plan a little outdoor workout? Your options are endless when it comes to finding the right workout for you and your mom. Many of Toronto’s long-shuttered gyms need the support but if funds are tight you can find tons of videos online for free.
