Move over, traditional mac and cheese, there’s a new player in town – and it’s plant-based! The innovative creation from a beloved brand promises the same creamy, nostalgic flavour that’s held a special place in our hearts (and stomachs) for decades, crafted to be enjoyed without animal-based cheese. So if you’re already following a plant-based diet or want to add more plant-based foods to your meals and don’t want to miss out on mac n’ cheese, then you might want to know about this.
The new plant-based version of Kraft Mac N’ Cheese
Known as KD NotMacandCheese, the product has been launched out of the joint venture between The Kraft Heinz Company (“Kraft Heinz”) and TheNotCompany, Inc. (“NotCo”). You can get it in two different flavours – Original and White Cheddar Style. Yes, you read that right.
“More Canadians than ever are looking for easy plant-based alternatives to pantry staples that don’t ask them to give up the foods they love, and they want options from their favourite brands that taste, look, and feel like the originals,” Lucho Lopez-May, CEO ofThe Kraft Heinz Not Company, said in a press release statement. “This is the core mission of The Kraft Heinz Not Company: to bring easy, accessible, and delicious plant-based alternatives from the world’s most beloved brands to the masses.”

But that’s not all. There’s also a new gluten-free option for this well-known pantry staple. There’s a KD Gluten Free available in the original flavour. Wondering how this came to be? There was a petition signed by 15,000 KD fans, all asking for a gluten-free version of the mac and cheese.
Talk about some new ways to enjoy Kraft Mac N’ Cheese. KD NotMacandCheese and KD Gluten Free have started rolling out on shelves all across Canada.
