From corporate conferences to stunning weddings and large-scale exhibitions, Toronto is home to an array of event spaces that cater to all types of occasions and styles. Whether you’re on the lookout for a place with historical charm or just something outright modern, The 6ix has the answer. And as of recently, one of the most popular event spaces in the city just got a major upgrade with new features and looks.
What’s new at the Toronto Design Exchange
Since the building was first built in the 1930s, it went from the original Toronto Stock Exchange to the Design Exchange. The space has become a go-to venue for corporate and social events, including conferences, trade shows and more. New upgrades, along with catering partner Eatertainment, have been added and powered by Elevate.
One of the major highlights now is the presence of a fully immersive projection mapping system. This is the first of its kind in the country. It comes with 45-foot tall by 230-foot projections, which means clients can access the state-of-the-art system to include many virtual and interactive elements for their events.

“The newly transformed event spaces at the historic Design Exchange is a first-of-its-kind venture in Canada, with only a handful of venues around the world offering similar tailored edge-to-edge experiences,” said Liz McKenna, Director of Events at Design Exchange, in a press release statement.
The 40,000 square feet space has five primary areas:
- The ‘Lobby’ for receptions and cocktails.
- The ‘Trading Floor’ for conferences and trade shows.
- The ‘Gallery’ for dining, smaller events, or experiential activations.
- The ‘Library’ for product launches or presentations.
- The ‘Boardroom’ for executive meetings or client dinners.
The Design Exchange in Toronto has its own in-house AV and technical teams that can provide clients with technological solutions. The new mapping system can also project custom images and videos.
The interiors of the space have also been upgraded, where the historical aspects are maintained but with a modern look. Want to make a booking? You can make it online through the website.
