Many dining establishments in Toronto have accolades and awards to their name and now there’s another one. Don Alfonso 1890, which is located within the iconic Casa Loma, has been awarded the title of Best Italian Restaurant In The World 2022 by 50 Top Italy.

Bestowing the restaurant with such an honour makes it not only a proud moment for Canada, but for Toronto as well. The judges include 350 inspectors, who make a list of 50 international restaurants. Don Alfonso 1980 was the one of only two restaurants to represent Canada. The other was Cioppino’s Mediterranean Grill in Vancouver.

The Toronto establishment celebrates the fresh flavors of the Amalfi Coast. The eight-course tasting menu highlights the unique style of 3-star Michelin Chef Alfonso Iaccarino. It is also the work of Executive Chef Daniele Corona, who moved to Toronto after years of training in Italy.
The restaurant’s classic tasting menu includes dishes like Sturgeon Caviar, Seared Muscovy Duck Breast, Roasted Red Wild Snapper, Pistachio Ravioli, to name a few. They also offer a la carte menu with starters, mains and desserts.
