With the city being the culinary hub that it is, there are many prestigious events to look forward to throughout the year. But one that was on hiatus since 2019 was Air Canada’s top 10 list of best new restaurants in the country. This year, however, it made a return with an in-person gala. Compiled by Air Canada’s enRoute magazine, there was a restaurant in Toronto that ranked number 1 on Canada’s Best New Restaurants 2022.

While there are many new spots in the city that could be contenders, it was Restaurant 20 Victoria that went home with the top ranking. The restaurant offers a six+ course set menu that changes depending on the season. According to Air Canada, “Canada’s Best New Restaurant, Restaurant 20 Victoria, shows us the way back from the pandemic–born land of the fast and casual.”

The restaurant is located at 20 Victoria Street and dinner reservations for November can be made via Tock.
A couple of other Toronto spots also made the top 10 list, including Mimi Chinese at number three and Fonda Balam at number seven. The second spot was handed to Mastard, a Montreal restaurant.
The full list was announced during a ceremony on November 1st, where the teams from all the restaurants were invited. Guests also included over 600 industry professionals. Check out the names of other restaurants that snagged a position on the list.
