This year’s edition of the world’s biggest cocktail competition saw over 10,000 bartenders in participate. The winner was none other than Toronto’s very own Jacob Martin, who was crowned the Global Bartender of the Year by Diageo World Class.
“It’s an unbelievable honour to win World Class. Not just because it’s the pinnacle of the industry but also because of the giants I’ve had the privilege of competing with this week. Canada first joined the Diageo World Class competition back in 2013. Martin’s win this year marks the country’s third time being the best-performing one. It’s also worth noting that no other country has secured this win more than two times.
