As we are in the throws of the holiday season, the TTC is limiting the number of closures and construction conducted across tracks and lines. Obviously, this is a great thing for people headed out to themed parties and activities, concerts or other non-holiday events across the city. As there’s still plenty to do this week and, for some, last-minute shopping to attend to, it’s a relief to know that things on the TTC are, so far, operating as normal. There was even a late-night closure that was cancelled this weekend. Read on to find out more:
This TTC route cancelled its closure this weekend
Originally, there was a scheduled time change on Line 1, slated to run from Finch to Eglinton Stations. It would see the line close early for maintenance from December 12th to 15th. However, the TTC has since cancelled the closure, and routes will continue to run as normal, leaving closing times unaffected and operating regularly, pending no unplanned issues.
Construction at College Station is still ongoing until the end of next year, but will not affect routes or stops in the area.

Of course, this weekend’s snowstorm already caused delays on bus and streetcar routes, though these are obviously out of the TTC’s control. Unplanned changes can be monitored online, on the TTC’s website.
