It’s almost the end of spooky season, so you all know what that means: start the prep for the holiday season! There’s the shopping for gifts, decorations, and of course, going to winter markets. There’s no lack of those in the city for sure, with many set to pop up in the next two months and until the start of the new year. One of the most popular winter villages is back in season starting in November, opening with the lighting of the tree.

Distillery Winter Village
Toronto’s Distillery District makes for a fun visit any time of the year, but even more so during the holidays. Between the food vendors, colourful lights, art and stores for shopping, there’s lots to do. But the most anticipated is the Distillery Winter Village, which used to be called the Toronto Christmas Market.
The opening ceremony is taking place on November 17th at 6 pm, with a Christmas tree lighting and all. The 50-foot White Spruce tree has even been designed by Parfums Christian Dior, with custom Dior ornaments covering the tree. The decorations also include items in shades of gold and midnight blue.

The ceremony is free to attend for all, and even for rest of the evening. Did I mention that this year there’s also going to be a gingerbread hunt? And a carol sing-a-long. Long story short, if all of that sounds like your cup of tea, then you can check it out from November 17.
