Toronto is known for proudly displaying countless cuisines from all around the world. Italian food definitely takes the city by storm. In fact, the city is home to a variety of places that bring the flavours from different parts of Italy to Torontonians. One such famed spot in The 6ix is Don Alfonso 1890, which was even titled as the Best Italian Restaurant in the World 2022 by 50 Top Italy. And now that best Italian restaurant is moving to a waterfront setting.

The restaurant will be inside the Westin Harbour Castle. The waterfront destination, which falls under the Marriott International hospitality group, offers breathtaking views of the city and lake. It will also have a seating capacity of 80, along with hosting its signature tasting menu for guests. This new location will take its place on the 38th floor of the Westin Harbour Castle hotel.
Don Alfonso 1980 is known for highlighting the tastes and flavour profiles of the Amalfi coast in Italy. The dishes carry a Mediterranean flare with the freshest ingredients, along with a wine pairing that complements the item.

The restaurant represents the legacy of Alfonso and Ernesto Iaccarino in Sorrento, Italy. They are both MICHELIN Star recipients. The Toronto team also includes Executive Chef, Daniele Corona, who had moved to the city from Italy.
Previously located at Toronto’s Casa Loma, the restaurant served an eight-course tasting menu. Construction for the new opening of the Italian restaurant in Toronto is underway. The team aims to have it ready for the summer though an exact date hasn’t been set. Reservations can be made online here for June 16 2022 and onward.
