We interviewed Hilary Swank! Okay, bragging done, now back to focusing on a good cause and why we were on the red carpet of the amfAR Inspiration Gala in the first place. Hilary Swank, Alan Cumming, Adrien Brody, Paul Haggis, Maria Bello, and MAC Global Brand President Karen Buglisi were at the Carlu Sunday night to join amfAR CEO Kevin Robert Frost to support amfAR, The Foundation for AIDS Research, at their first Inspiration Gala Toronto. The fabulous and multi-talented Alan Cumming hosted the event, with Swank serving as honorary chair. Highlights of the evening included a high-energy performance by the Gossip, including a duet between lead singer Beth Ditto and Alan Cumming covering Dolly Parton’s classic “Here You Come Again.” Other highlights included a men’s fashion presentation by Marc Jacobs, worn by Elmer Olsen models and styled by Corey Ng. Besides being one of the most enjoyable events of the festival season, it also was a roaring success in raising funds for AIDS research, with the evening finishing off at just under $500,000 in donations.
