Warning, ladies: There’s a fake James Franco running around Toronto posing in pictures with fans who clearly haven’t seen enough actual James Franco movies to know the difference. Although the real James Franco has been in Toronto to promote TIFF 2013 films Palo Alto and Child of God, he apparently has a doppelganger who’s in town promoting his, um, well, we’re not exactly sure. We’d love to assume this is some kind of artistic experiment that’s meant to question how the Instagram era has altered the concept of fame, but it’s probably just a fun hoax. We pose for photos all the time when people mistake us for Gisele Bundchen and Tom Brady, right?
All that to say, the fake James Franco first got the attention of the real James Franco’s crew when he was at the Palo Alto after-party on Friday and was spotted posing for photos as the real James Franco with so called “fans.” Producers of Palo Alto thought it was hysterical and invited the fake James Franco to the after-party for Child of God at Bloke & 4th on Monday as well. Check out the insanity below.
