The terrace and ballroom at Toronto’s Shangri-La Hotel were packed on as the TIFF 2015 Birks Diamond Tribute to The Year’s Women in Film gathered stars, media, and VIPs to celebrate nine of Canada’s finest actors and directors.
The third-annual event, hosted by Birks and Telefilm Canada saw over 400 guests toasting the accomplishments of Canadian women in film. The honourees included Sophie Deraspe, Anne Émond, Patricia Rozema, Kari Skogland, and Ingrid Veninger, as well as actors Katie Boland, Suzanne Clément, Catherine O’Hara, and Karine Vanasse.
The well-attended soiree brought out notable guests—Deepa Mehta, Suzanne Boyd, Kirk Pickersgill and Noreen Flanagan to name a few—and fabulous fashion, with some guests sporting Birks pieces.
