Last night Grey Goose Vodka hosted the pre-premiere party for Christian Bale’s moustache. Oh, and I guess his film, The Promise, too. The 6:30pm event was held at Soho House and was the most intimate of the Grey Goose hosted parties yet. The crowd included the cast and some of the people who worked on the film and a few journalists, including yours truly.
The cast was standing around sipping on Grey Goose cocktails and were actually eating the passed around apps like the truffle oiled grilled cheese, mini versions of the house’s signature kale salad and some sweets.

Christian Bale shows up fashionably late (because he can)
Christian Bale arrived at the party at 8:30pm on the dot, the same time the party was scheduled to end. But he made up for it with taking pictures with his cast, and posing for pics with those who asked (and, well, everyone asked) and for goddamn owning that magical piece of facial hair he was rocking on his already banging face. Too much?
The party cleared out around 8:40pm, but Bale lingered (because he can. Also, probably so he could show up late to his premiere, too because he’s fucking Christian Bale.) I lingered ’til he left, just in case him and his wife decided to opt out of the premiere (F-you, TIFF) and on the off chance, wanted to ask me to join them. #anythingforastory
Natalie Portman loves pizza, just like us
After the party cleared, the room was closed to set up for the premiere after-party for the Natalie Portman film, Jackie (also hosted by Grey Goose). This party was bustling, perhaps because it didn’t kick off until 10:30pm. The room was filled with Hollywood types including Kate Hudson, Evan Rachel Wood, Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga. Everyone seemingly knew everyone else, and it was so packed that not many paid notice to the ever-so-beautiful Natalie Portman, who stood by the notable Soho House moose head (as seen in all those Leo pics from the other eve), where the newly pregnant star sipped on water and then sat down to eat a few slices of Margherita pizza. Stars, they’re just like us.
