Of course, festival season is in full swing, and there’s so much buzz around the city – parties, films, red carpets and, of course, food. Tons of the city’s best restaurants are celebrating TIFF in style, offering culinary masterpieces and specials for the week of the festival. There’s something for everyone at restaurants all right smack dab in the action. Check out some of our favourites, from all kinds of global cuisines, below.
Little Sister’s one-of-a-kind cocktail
“It’s all Gone Peach Tong” is acclaimed restaurant and bar Little Sister’s way of celebrating TIFF. If you’re looking for a post-carpet cocktail away from the buzz, Little Sister’s bright digs are the perfect getaway. Pair the perfectly made cocktail with any of the unique, beloved eats on the menu and get a delicious break from the action before heading back in.
TOCA’s TIFF celebrations
According to a festival release, “TOCA will be open all day and offer special menus throughout the day prepared by their new executive TOCA chef, Chef Paul Wejman.” Some of the menu items include burrata, fried calamari, grilled Branzino and Arragosta, a half grilled lobster served with squid ink spaghetti, lobster bisque and roe. And, of course, TOCA is located inside The Ritz-Carlton, Toronto, so it’s the perfect spot for celebrity sightings or taking a break from TIFF red carpets.

Minami’s festival eats
From the Nineteen Forty Blue cocktail, crafted with Don Julio 1942 Añejo, Johnnie Walker Blue Label whisky, black truffle infused syrup and lemon oil, to the extravagant $400 Minami Experience entree, consisting of Saikyo Miso-marinated Canadian Lobster, Hokkaido Uni, Kalguga Caviar, Miyazaki A5 Wagyu Ribeye, Quebec Foie Gras, Canadian Black Truffle, Aka miso Ginger Sauce, everything at this eatery is done with perfection. Located just steps from the heart of the TIFF action, it’s the perfect place to treat yourself like a celebrity.
Rosé all day at O&B
A huge selection of Oliver & Bonacini-owned restaurants, from Jump to Leña to Luma (which is located right in the TIFF Bell Lightbox) are offering rosé specials until September 23, and are located at various spots across the city. For an interesting movie-themed twist, Luma also offers a selection of cocktails with names inspired by classic films, from the Wolf of King Street to Guardians of the Guava.
