One of the hotspots for this year’s TIFF parties will be notoriously bad-ass, can I say anymore? It’s at The Drake Hotel! For the past eight years, The Drake has become an associated partner-in-crime with TIFF launch parties. This year is no different as they kick off, TIFF Overdrive on Thursday Sept. 6th at 9pm – 4am (That’s right folks, last call is going into overdrive) – $10.
The Drake will be transformed into a theme centered around the rebellious Hollywood idols such as James Dean and Steve McQueen. Everything from atmosphere to celeb tribute cocktails will carry over the 1960’s style of the “bad boy” imagery. Sponsored by Stella Artois and Sailor Jerry, party guests will be entertained by Still Life Still and Dinosaur Bones, while the headliner remains a secret. Also Sailor Jerry will takeover Drake’s room 222 and stylize the guests with free haircuts, slicked-back looks are still in, no? If you’re looking for a more permanent reminder of the event, the Sailor Jerry airstream trailer will be parked on Queen as a mobile tattoo shop.
The fun never seems to stop at the Drake Hotel and this year’s TIFF event looks even more infamous as ever!
