TIFF may not be thought of by some as a hotbed for Canadian film culture, but it most certainly is. Our homegrown talent is ample and amazing – hello, Gosling and McAdams! – and was on full display for celebration Friday night at The Shore Club for the Academy of Canadian Cinema and Television (ACCT) and the Canadian Screen Awards. (FYI, the Canadian Screen Awards are the new Genie and Gemini Awards.)
We enlisted the interviewing talents of Marie Nicola (one half of Nat&Marie), to hit up the red carpet and chat with some of Canada’s cool kids. Of course, being View the Vibe, we couldn’t not find out the hot-spots our local talent frequents. From George Strombo to Jian Ghomeshi, Gerry Dee to Yannick Bisson, we heard a few familiar spots and a couple out of left field.
So… where do our stars go when the cameras stop rolling and the hunger pangs set in? You’ll have to watch the red carpet from the Canadian Screen Awards during TIFF 2012 to find out…
