Given the increased level of buzz, media, and energy flying around the city these days, it would be safe to assume that even Helen Keller would be aware that TIFF was about to happen. If you have yet to fully hash out your plan to ninja-crash the most exclusive parties, fear not as there are other ways to enjoy the festival. Apparently, they actually show movies, too, and the whole thing isn’t just an excuse to squeal like a broken Harajuku girl at the mere thought of Meryl Streep being in town. Who knew?
In any case, tickets go on sale this Sunday, September 1st, and will be available for pick-up as of September 2nd at the Festival Box Office (225 King Street West). Highlights of this year’s festival that you may want to check out include August: Osage County starring Meryl Streep (insert squeal here), Julia Roberts’ return to real-people acting, and darling weirdo Juliette Lewis in the film adaptation of Tracy Lett’s Pulitzer-Prize winning play. Another to keep your eye on is the much-hyped 3D space flick, Gravity, starring Miss Congeniality and Gay Batman AKA Sandra Bullock and George Clooney.
