While the skies may be gloomier this week, more sunshine is on the horizon thanks to the news that Toronto body-positive activist and all-around babe Roxy Earle has teamed up with Joe Fresh for a limited-edition swimwear collab launching May 13.
If Roxy looks familiar, it’s because you likely saw her steal the spotlight as a star of The Real Housewives of Toronto. Since appearing on the show, Roxy has worked tirelessly to bring empowerment to women of all shapes and sizes through her #MySizeRox movement.
“It’s an honour to work alongside the Joe Fresh team and create a swimwear collection that women of all shapes and sizes can feel confident wearing,” says Roxy Earle in a release. “Together, we have developed beautiful pieces that truly embody the #MySizeRox movement, which aims to promote body positivity and inclusivity for all body sizes. I worked with Joe Fresh on the launch of extended size swimwear last year, and this collaboration feels like the perfect next step in our partnership.”

Joe Fresh has worked since 2017 to expand its extended size collection in various categories including sportswear, athletic wear, sleepwear, intimates, and most recently, swimwear so it seems that this partnership was a match-made.
“We are delighted to collaborate with Roxy Earle, who is a positive role model for all woman,” says Ian Freedman, President of Joe Fresh. “Roxy and our brand have a shared commitment in creating exceptional pieces at affordable value, and we’re excited to share this capsule collection with our customers.”

I had the chance to catch up with Roxy to find out a little more about how her Joe Fresh collab got started and how she handles any off days.
Huge congrats on this collab! How did this partnership come to be?
Thank you! Over the past few years, I’ve been working with the Joe Fresh team on smaller partnerships and organic programs, and they’ve always been super receptive to hearing my ideas, feedback and recommendations in regards to their product designs. This design collaboration, where I could truly be a part of every process and decision made in regards to our swimwear capsule, seemed like the perfect next step in our relationship.
The snakeskin pattern is so fierce – how did you and the JF team approach the design?
We really wanted to create a swimwear collection that was elevated and stylish, with a unique print that you don’t usually see, and of course, a product that’s affordable. There are many brands producing black swimsuits for their plus-size customers, but we wanted to create something different. This collection is elegant and timeless and customers – no matter their size – will want to wear it! We want customers to stand out and love the body that they’re in!
What advice would you give to someone struggling to feel confident in their own skin?
I want people to remember that confidence is something that they can control! It takes hard work and mindfulness, but once you practice and exercise positive thoughts, it will help! I am so excited to be launching an app called Ana, which is the digital evolution of my ongoing mission to inspire a generation of women to feel happier, healthier, and more confident. The app is as much a positive mindset coach as it is a robust tool for understanding and tracking a woman’s unique gynecological health.
You’re so inspiring and fearless but let’s be real: we all have our off days. How do you pick yourself up when you’re just not feeling “it”?
We certainly all have our “off days!”
I use positive affirmations every morning and give myself a timer to feel bad or upset. Once my alarm hits that allotted time (i.e. 10 mins), I am reminded to get on and share gratitude and at least three things that I’m grateful for. This really helps shift my mindset and encourage positive thinking and thoughts.

What are you hoping folks take away from this collab?
The most important thing that I hope others take away from this collaboration is to embody confidence, wear that bathing suit and channel #mysizerox!
