What would I Drink on My Birthday in Quarantine?
With my birthday coming up this Friday, I started to think about how many of us are celebrating our birthday in quarantine, with virtual birthday parties. Some of us might be celebrating them alone and at home, while others might be spending time in your family household. Despite what some may think, during this time it’s worth splurging a little bit to remind yourself how awesome you really are–even if you can’t celebrate the way you’re used to. Opening a truly awesome bottle of wine, or bubbles and cooking up or ordering in your favourite meal is a nice little reward for celebrating your special day!

This week’s edition of the Top 6 in the 6ix Wine Wednesday round-up lists 6-wines I’d like to drink, or wish for, on my birthday. From sparkling to special bottles, these 6-bottles are wines I crave and some that I would consider 100-point wines (in my most humble opinion).
What is a 100-pt wine you ask? Well, a 100-point wine means that I could, and would, enjoy the entire bottle myself. However, sharing these bottles with another person is also something I would entertain, but more than that would mean I don’t get to drink as much of it as I would like!
On my birthday it’s pretty regular that I saber a bottle of sparkling wine (yup, I love sabering) and pray that I can sip it in the sunshine. Plus, if someone really loves me, they can splurge on something exciting to tell me that they are glad I was born. Besides, every year I’m getting older, so I might as well reward myself each and every year by drinking something even more special. Fun fact: Did you know they classify “Old Vines” as vines that are 25 years or older? That means I’ve been an old vine for….never mind, we don’t need to go that far. Besides, what’s that quote about aging like a fine wine? 😉
Here are the wines, I love and would consider my Spring Birthday Wines.
