The Chianti Classico wine is made with Sangiovese grapes and must be made with a minimum of 80% and a maximum contribution of 20% of other red grapes. The grapes that may contribute to the blend must be recorded in the national register of vine varieties of MIPAAF authorized by the Region of Tuscany, starting from native varieties, such as Canaiolo Nero, Ciliegiolo, Colorino, Fogliatonda, Malvasia Nera, Mammolo, Pugnitello, and also major international varieties, such as Cabernet Franc, Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah. Each production phase of the Chianti Classico wine, from the vineyard to the bottle, must take place within the boundaries of the Chianti Classico area, between the cities of Florence and Siena, in the heart of Tuscany. Chianti Classico DOCG is a traceable wine from the vineyard to the bottle, whose entire production process is controlled and documented.
These wines are loved and adored by many wine enthusiasts. Sangiovese has the capacity and ability for many to truly enjoy now and also as they age. They are wonderful wines to drink in the moment and to add to your cellar, or to gift a wine collector.
