Carmenere is a grape Chile saved from extinction. Originally from France, yet destroyed by phylloxera Carmenere made its way to Chile and was mistaken as merlot until the 90s. A sister grape to Merlot, Carmenere is medium in body and full of ripe red cherries on the palate. One of my absolute favourite red sippers! Carmenere is a grape that you can easily fall in love with.
