We’re already halfway into the month, and there’s no shortage of cool winter activities and city happenings to help you pack the most into your weekend. In fact, there sometimes seems like there are too many to choose from. Fret not. Vv Magazine’s Vancouver Editor Danica Jeffery has once again compiled her list of top weekend events in Vancouver to highlight the must-sees and must-dos of your days off…
Robson Outdoor Rink
If you haven’t already laced up this season, use this weekend to do just that and head down for some free ice-skating at the Robson Outdoor Rink. Rentals are available for next to nothing, and there’s just something so quintessentially West Coast-winter about it. To make a day of it, head to the Art Gallery Café for a hot beverage fix after. Winter sport keeners rotate this into their roster of top weekend events in Vancouver while the weather keeps it an option.

VSO New Music Festival
Throw some culture into the mix this weekend and celebrate the VSO New Music Festival, which just kicked off on Thursday. The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra is set to showcase the works of various contemporary composers from across Canada and beyond, including the BBC Concert Orchestra, Royal Oman Symphony, and York Guildhall Orchestra to name a few.
Dine Out Vancouver Festival
The Dine Out Vancouver Festival is on now and is the perfect chance for you to ditch the kitchen in favour of the opportunity to nab a table at one of the city’s most sought-after restaurant reservations. We gave you our own low-down earlier this week (because this definitely takes the No. 1 spot on our list of top weekend events in Vancouver) – but with a record number 277 participating restaurants this year, the culinary options are endless.
ROAM
ROAM is another food-minded option if you’re on the hunt for something a little different come Saturday night. Experience a musical happening taking place at the Juice Truck Café starting at 7pm, featuring three live performances paired up alongside a three-course meal. Should make for a pretty unique night.

Non-GMO Show + Gluten Free Expo
Both the Non-GMO Show and the Gluten Free Expo are taking place this weekend – perfect places to check out if you’re trying to make some nutritional changes for 2015. Discover health-conscious trends, score tips form experts. and sample hundreds of products at both. You’ll find all the action at the Vancouver Convention Centre.
Hit the trails this weekend (Pacific Spirit Park by UBC is our pick) and then warm up with a cup of hot chocolate at one of the many participating vendors on board for the 5th Annual Hot Chocolate Festival that has just kicked off. Check out all the details and menu of offerings here.
