The 12 Canadian comedic stars include a variety of talent from Toronto, including Salma Hindy, a Muslim comic who is a biomedical engineer, Al Val, a transgender comic and Cassie Cao, a former economist turned comedian.
The New Wave of Standup also features Paul Rabliauskus, from Poplar River First Nation Reserve in Manitoba, Calgary’s Brett Forte and Ola Dada, a Nigerian-Canadian from Alberta and many more.
