Let the holiday festivities begin!
Let’s face it, in our consumer-driven culture, the mall has become as synonymous with Christmas as reindeer, eggnog, and awkward questions about your personal life. That said, we can’t help but feel a little cheerier with the Toronto Eaton Centre celebrating the holiday season in style and in high spirits.
Toronto’s favourite (and largest!) shopping centre has been transformed into a winter wonderland, with a beautiful LED holiday tree (FYI, that’s the politically correct term for Christmas trees nowadays) along with large, brightly lit reindeer statues dispersed throughout the mall.

Be sure to bring the kids over to Santa’s Timber Cabin and take a few snaps (or selfies) with ol’ Saint Nick! Located on Trinity Way (right beside the Mercatto exit of the mall), the “Timber Blocks R-30” insulated, custom-built log cabin was designed especially to keep Santa, his little helpers, and visitors like you warm during the festive season.
The “Urban Lodge” on Trinity Way will help truly bring the holiday spirit to the Toronto Eaton Centre, featuring a brilliant digital fireplace, comfy seating for the whole family, free Wi-Fi (so you can Instagram those Santa selfies), and complimentary charging stations.
Partnering with Sick Kids and Autism Speaks, children with special needs and/or those unable to meet with Santa in person can Skype with him instead every Wednesday for the month of December.
Also, get a photo of your dog or cat on Santa’s lap and support the Toronto Humane Society. The big guy in red will be accepting your little friends in fur first on December 4 (4pm to 7pm), and again on December 14 (10am to 2pm) at his log cabin.
