It’s time to bring out your team hoodies because the WNBA is coming to Toronto for its first-ever Canadian game. It’s being hosted in collaboration with NBA Canada and Maple Leaf Sports & Entertainment Ltd. It will be a preseason game that’ll take place in May. So if you’re hoping to catch it live, then you better mark your calendars and make sure you have your tickets.
WNBA in Toronto
The two competing teams for the game are Minnesota Lynx and Chicago Sky. According to a CBC report, WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert shared that it was an “obvious choice to host an exhibition game” in Canada as it’s significantly popular here.
Moreover, it’s only the third WNBA game that’s happened outside of the US in the league’s history. They also aim to expand to other cities in the future, while also wanting to have games in countries across the world.

The Minnesota Lynx includes two Canadians Bridget Carleton and Natalie Achonwa. Since 2011, The Lynx are the recipient of four WNBA championships.
