Vv Magazine’s Laina Goldstein stopped by Toronto Taste, the most delicious way to make a difference in the city. Take a peek at some of her favourite dishes.
This past weekend, I attended Toronto Taste 2016 and I am still full! Located downtown at Corus Quay, I had the opportunity to hang out with Toronto’s top chefs in support of an amazing initiative and eat some of the most incredible food I have had.
While I love food (and it was certainly delicious,) I was initially drawn to the event after reading about their involvement with Second Harvest, a not-for-profit organization that collects food that would otherwise go to waste and delivers it to people in need. I feel pretty lucky to have attended what Mark McEwan calls, “the most important event of the year in this city.”

For Toronto Taste’s 26th anniversary, over 90 vendors including Buca, Carbon Bar, Jacobs & Co., Rodney’s and more gathered to cook for a cause. This year, the event raised a whopping $850,000 for the food rescue charity – that’s enough to provide 1.7 million meals to people facing hunger across Toronto! Check out some of the dishes from the event in the gallery below.
