Can you even call yourself a Torontonian if you haven’t been to Reyna? Whether you frequent Reyna on King for the aesthetic vibes and delicious brunch or Bar Reyna for its gorgeous Yorkville back patio, you’ll be thrilled to hear the brand is expanding to New York City! Now when you visit the Big Apple, you can enjoy a slice of home by visiting Reyna NY.
Reyna New York
Despite the challenges faced throughout the pandemic, seasoned entrepreneur and restaurateur Nicki Laborie has announced Reyna New York will open in the Spring of 2022. Laborie started her adult life in NYC and has come full circle with her return there this year. In her 20s she worked in the clubs and promotions industry where she met Etienne DeYans, her current partner in the new venture!

After a year of closures, partial reopening, pivoting and pivoting again, Laborie had to decide whether she was going to let her life’s work be victim to the pandemic or if she was going to take the reigns back into her own hands. As someone who has seen Laborie in the workplace, I can’t say I’m surprised she chose the latter.
What We Know So Far
Although the new restaurant is still in its early stage of development, it will be located at 11 East 13th Street where Le Midi Bar and Restaurant had once been. With 2 floors and 6000 square feet, visitors will be able to dine upstairs at Reyna NY or head downstairs to the speakeasy called Le Louis XIV for a signature cocktail (we all know Reyna cocktails are to die for). The aesthetic will hold true to the European vibes Reyna Toronto restaurants are known for and you can expect some of the same staple dishes on the menu.
Good things take time so until Reyna NY is open in 2022, you can visit Bar Reyna or Reyna on King.
