The other night, I snatched Ms. Thang aka Marie Nicola (of Nat&Marie) to go check out some eye candy and belly candy…otherwise known as TO’s Hottest Chef. So for those of you who know not about this great endeavour – organized by Stella Yu of Food Junkie Chronicles and Kristina Chau of Not Your Average Party – TO’s Hottest Chef set out to find just that: the hottest chef in the city.
Restaurants got involved, had their chef tossed up on a voting site like the slabs of meat they handle so routinely in the kitchen, and (lacking a swimwear competition) two rounds of online voting whittled down the list to the Top 5. (Each vote online garnered a $1 donation to the winning charity.)
The big announcement and final voting went down Monday at Ivy Knight’s 86’d at The Drake. Co-hosted by Ms. Knight (whose publication, Swallow Food, also sponsored the culinary objectification-fest), and possibly TO’s actual hottest chef, Cory Vitiello from the Harbord Room, the event saw each of the Top 5 finalists prepping a canape/amuse bouche for the ravenous attendees. Seriously, when each nibble came out it was akin to feeding time amongst a pack of wolves vying for their share of too-small-to-fill-all steer. While the goal was to vote on looks, some opted to check their ballots instead in regards to the charities each chef had chosen, or in favour of their favourite chef’s creation.

While the votes were tallied, the lovely “Anastasia” showed her ta-tas in a salacious show of gyrations and tassells. Much more demure, the winner, Chef Jo Lusted from Clean Eating Magazine, thanked the voters for helping raise over $3,000 for the Canadian College of Naturopathic Medicine.

PS Great job Stella, Kristina and their team of supporters for an amazing event.
