Thick, groomed eyebrows are one of the hottest beauty trends of the moment. From the Spring/Summer 2013 catwalks of Marc Jacobs to Zac Posen, big is beautiful when it comes to brows. If you were not given the genetic gift of caterpillar brows and are sick of the daily toils of applying a pound of makeup, worry not, butterfly, because you have more semi-permanent options.
Eyebrow Extensions
Certain spas in America, like Completely Bare in NYC and D’Lashes in Beverly Hills, have begun offering their clients eyebrow extensions. Similar to their neighbours to south, eyelash extensions, the brow versions are essentially synthetic hairs that are applied over top of your existing ones with surgical-grade glue. The results are a more organic look than makeup, with the hairs positioned in the direction of your natural growth patterns, though at approximately $385 a pop and lasting only about two weeks a treatment, this may not be within your monthly brow budget.
Eyebrow Growth Serum
For something a little more affordable (usually ranging from $30 to $100), many beauty companies are now offering serums to get plumper eyebrows that are actually your own. Utilizing fortifying proteins that nourish and condition the hairs while also encouraging new growth, the results can vary between people. The hairs that do grow in tend to be slightly lighter than existing ones and visible changes also vary in when they appear (between 3 weeks to 6 months) but it certainly could be worth a shot if you hopped on-board the late-90s overplucking trend a little too hard.
