With Pride Month in full swing – and the official weekend coming soon – there’s so much to enjoy and celebrate this June. The vibrant community offers a ton to our everyday lives, from science to education to entertainment. One of the most popular contributions is a drag, and who better to introduce everyone to all of its shimmers than two iconic drag queens? Leave it to Trixie Mattel and Juno Birch to do just that in “A Drag Adventure Story.”
About “A Drag Adventure Story”
The YouTube video was released on June 10 and has already amassed nearly 1,000,000 views. Throughout the experience, Trixie and Juno take viewers on a one-of-a-kind adventure through the history of drag, uncovering a colourful history and introducing the world to an ever-growing community of creators who expand access to queer perspectives, creativity, and representation in new and innovative ways. It highlights drag creators on YouTube specifically, and “delves into the history of drag on the platform, and ways in which the community was able to connect with others and share themselves authentically,” according to the press release.
The video drop even generated excitement from YouTube’s main page, as clicking the logo – also called a Yoodle – directed viewers to “A Drag Adventure Story,” celebrating the drag community’s impact and presence on the platform.
